Kelly M. Curro, Esq.

Kelly M. Curro brings over 30 years of experience to her practice, offering a broad range of legal services including civil litigation, criminal defense, real estate, and business law. Her primary focus is in Matrimonial and Family Law, where her diverse legal background enables her to address the complex and evolving needs of her clients. Ms. Curro represents individuals in matters including divorce, separation, custody, paternity, child and spousal support, property distribution, and both pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, as well as post-divorce issues such as enforcement and modification.

Throughout her career, Ms. Curro has developed a reputation as a skilled advocate, with experience in both trial-level and appellate matters. She has had several reported Family Law cases in the New York State Appellate Division Third Department, underscoring her expertise in navigating complex legal issues. In addition to her litigation experience, Ms. Curro is trained in Collaborative Law, offering her clients an alternative approach to divorce that avoids the traditional court-based system. She is an active member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the Collaborative Divorce Association of the Capital District, providing clients with options for a more amicable and cooperative resolution to divorce.

Ms. Curro’s approach to family law is grounded in empathy and practicality. She understands that divorce and family-related issues are deeply personal, and her goal is to help clients find clear, realistic solutions during difficult times. She takes pride in keeping her clients fully informed about their legal options and the potential impact of divorce on their lives, children, and finances. Recognizing that each case is unique, she tailors her approach to meet the specific needs of her clients and strives to achieve the best possible outcome. While Ms. Curro is known for her strong litigation skills, she also leverages her negotiation and case management expertise to guide clients in making informed decisions about whether a litigation-based solution is right for them.

What Ms. Curro finds most rewarding about her work is seeing her clients move forward after their cases are concluded, knowing that she has made a positive impact on their lives and their families. Whether through successful litigation or a collaborative resolution, helping clients transition through some of the most challenging times of their lives is what drives her passion for family law.

Ms. Curro graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History/Political Science from The College of Saint Rose in 1990. She was the College’s first participant in its combined law degree program with Albany Law School and went on to earn her Juris Doctor cum laude from Albany Law in 1992.
